Cargo scanning
The most sophisticated x-ray inspection systems based on klystron linear electron accelerators are capable of differentiate up to 4 material groups, have the penetration power of up to 400mm on steel and scan railway trains at speeds of up to 70 km/h.
The projects which ScanTech has supplied equipment for comprise stationary and mobile x-ray inspection systems. The S-band KIU-168 klystron is used mainly for stationary systems where size and weight are relatively unlimited. The C-band KIU-273 klystron is an advantage for the mobile system due to its reduced weight & dimensions.
